Before anyone mentions maximalist illustration, notice what the teal blue does to linen. It pulls the warmth out of a plain sofa and gives a room something to answer back to. Put it up and a quiet wall stops being a gap and starts being the reason the sofa sits where it does. It works above a sofa, in a hallway that gets walked past twenty times a day, or on a dining wall that needs waking up. Pair it with cane, painted timber, stoneware and one or two striped cushions in the same mustard or coral. Don’t crowd it with other busy patterns on the same wall, and skip heavy dark furniture right underneath it flattens the cream sections. On fine-art paper the printed textures and halftone dots stay crisp.
