Rooms go quieter when deep green is this sure of itself. Ferns, moss, lichen and bark sit under loose blocks of stone grey and warm brown, so the whole thing reads as texture before it reads as plants. Put it up and a flat wall gains depth without gaining noise the greens pull down the glare of white paint and make timber look warmer. Hang it above a sideboard, a desk or a low bookcase, or between two windows where daylight rakes across it. Pair with oak or walnut, linen, wool and stoneware. Keep other pattern nearby to a minimum; busy florals or strong stripes will fight the collage edges. As a canvas the surface softens the edges and leans further into that woodland-floor feel.
