Some cityscape prints match a room. This one resets its pecking order. The pink stucco, blue shutters and tall green cypress pull the eye and quietly shift everything else into a softer key.

Put it on a wall and the room gets warmer and a touch slower. Neutrals look more deliberate, greenery looks chosen rather than scattered, and the room reads as someone who’s actually been somewhere.

It hangs best in a hallway, above a bedroom chest of drawers, or in a quiet corner of a kitchen. Eye level, single piece, lots of breathing room around it.

Pair it with pale oak, rattan, linen, off-white walls and a couple of real plants. Brass or black fittings both work.

Don’t crowd it. Avoid loud patterned wallpaper and other busy travel posters on the same wall. As a canvas the edges read clean and the watercolour washes keep their soft, hand-painted feel.
