Some abstract prints match a room. This one resets its pecking order. The looping bands of bright blue, navy and pale sky pull every eye in the room straight to one wall, and everything else settles into a supporting role. Put it where a wall is currently doing nothing: a tall gap beside a doorway, the stretch above a sideboard, the turn of a staircase. It gets on well with pale wood, white lacquer, chrome legs and plain linen, and it lifts a grey or off-white wall without needing extra colour nearby. Don’t crowd it with busy pattern, and don’t hang it next to another strong blue piece the two will argue rather than agree. As a canvas the brushed ribbons read softer and more painterly from across the room.
