This isn’t wall filler. It’s deep red with a point of view. The heron stands tall against blocks of dark green, navy and soft pink, and the whole wall lifts around it. Hang it where a room has gone a bit safe: above a sideboard in the living room, on a hallway wall you walk past every day, or in a dining room that needs one loud thing. It sits happily with warm timber, rattan, linen and plain painted walls in off-white or clay. Keep the surrounding shelf calm a couple of plain ceramics is plenty. Don’t crowd it with other high-colour pieces or busy pattern; it wants a little breathing room to do its job. On premium fine-art paper, the brushwork and colour edges stay crisp.
