Against terracotta, the deep blue reads less sweet, more deliberate. Hang it and a quiet room gains a warm centre: the brown ground softens hard modern edges, while the pinks, reds and yellows pull light back into a shaded corner. It sits well above a sideboard, a dining table or a bedroom chest, where you can look at it up close and pick out the smaller blooms. Pair it with warm timber, velvet or linen seating, glazed pottery and one or two brass fittings. Keep the wall around it plain a strong pattern or a busy shelf either side flattens the bouquet and turns it into background. On premium fine-art paper, the pastel texture and soft edges stay clear.
