On a warm afternoon, the mustard yellow looks almost illegally fresh. That is the whole point of this one: it puts a hit of colour where a room has gone a bit beige and safe. Hang it and the room stops being a tidy nursery and starts being a place a child actually plays in. It works best on a plain wall above a low toy unit, chest of drawers or reading corner, where small people can look at it properly. Keep the things around it simple: white shelves, pale wood, a stripy rug, a few solid-colour cushions. Do not put it next to busy wallpaper or another loud pattern print, and skip pastel nursery bunnies nearby – they cancel each other out. As a canvas the surface is soft and matt, with no shine to fight the bright colour.
