By late afternoon, the dove stops looking decorative and starts working. The pink background warms up as the light drops, and the navy checks pull the room together instead of just sitting there. It gives a plain wall a proper focal point: something with colour and a bit of humour, without shouting. Hang it above a sideboard, a kitchen counter or a small console in a hallway where you pass it every day. It pairs happily with dark wood, painted green or navy joinery, cane chairs and chunky glazed pots. Keep the wall itself simple.
