Open the curtains at mid-morning; the deep green will handle the drama. Once it’s up, a quiet wall stops being background. The leaves read as soft shapes from across the room, then the fine black lines and thin copper-brown stems come forward when you’re close. Hang it above a low sideboard, a bench in a hallway, or on the wall beside a bed. It sits happily with pale oak or walnut, linen cushions, stoneware and chalky off-white paint. Don’t crowd it with busy pattern on the same wall no strong wallpaper, no cluster of small mixed prints elbowing in. Give it clear space either side and let the cream ground do its job. On fine-art paper the brushmarks and thin lines stay crisp and matte.
