What’s the living room missing? Dusty pink with some nerve. This one takes a guitar apart into flat blue, brown and olive shapes and rebuilds it standing tall. Put it up and the wall stops being background the eye goes straight to it and everything around it reads calmer by comparison. Best on a narrow stretch of wall, above a sideboard or between two doorways, at eye level so the vertical build does its job. Dark wood, leather and a wool rug hold the weight well, and a chalky off-white wall lets the pink strip breathe. Don’t crowd it with busy pattern or other strong-colour pieces; it wants a little quiet either side. On fine-art paper the flat colour blocks and soft canvas-weave texture stay crisp.
