What it adds isn’t clutter. It’s hard-edged, dotted tension in the right places. A flat wall with a sofa and not much else suddenly has a colour source, and everything around it looks intentional. The bright orange does the heavy lifting from across the room, while the dark teal leaves keep it from tipping into novelty. Hang it above a sideboard, on a narrow hallway stretch, or as the single loud thing in a quiet study. Pair with mid-century timber, tan leather, chrome and plain linen. Keep the wall behind it plain off-white, soft pink or pale grey. Don’t crowd it with patterned wallpaper or other bright graphics; it needs breathing room to work. On fine-art paper the dot texture and grain stay crisp and close to a real screen print.
