Up close the flower heads are built from thick, chunky brushmarks, so the whole thing shifts as the light moves across the wall. In a room it does the job of a window: it brings warmth and depth without adding a new colour to fight with. Hang it above a bed, a low sideboard or in a hallway where you pass it daily. It sits happily with linen, pale painted wood, terracotta pots and stoneware. Keep the wall around it fairly plain.
