It sits happily with linen, pale wood, cane and cream ceramics, and it lifts painted cabinetry in soft green. Skip the heavy dark wood and the shiny gold nearby both fight the watery edges. Keep the wall around it fairly clear so the loose brushwork has room to breathe. On fine-art paper the pale washes stay soft and light.
