Test it this way: if the living room feels safe, size up. This is a botanical study with the volume turned right up: giant leaves striped in bright pink, teal, mustard and deep green, standing over a bank of dahlias and yellow wildflowers. Put it up and a quiet room gains a focal point you can see from the doorway. It works above a sofa, on a landing, or on the one narrow wall nobody has claimed yet. Pair it with plain painted walls, deep green velvet, cane or rattan, and a few glazed ceramics in matching colours. Don’t crowd it with busy patterned wallpaper or a row of small pictures it needs clear wall on either side to read properly. On fine-art paper the painted colour blocks stay crisp and clean-edged.
