Think of it as Matisse with less reverence and better instincts. The bird is built from broad pink strokes, the leaves are dropped in with deep green, and a few blue, orange and mustard marks are left exactly where they landed. Put it up and a flat, polite wall suddenly has a focal point, which means you can stop hunting for other things to hang there.
