Hung on a plain wall, it stops a tidy bedroom feeling unfinished without adding pattern or noise. Give it height: above a low chest of drawers, in a dressing corner, or as a tall piece between two windows. Keep the things below it simple linen, pale wood, one ceramic. Don’t crowd it with framed photos or florals, and don’t put it on a patterned wallpaper. The bare background is doing half the job.
