Not because it’s terracotta orange, but because it refuses to fade back. The Colosseum sits behind a tangle of orange branches, and the whole thing carries the warmth of a Roman afternoon without shouting about it.

Put it up and the room takes on a softer, holiday-ish mood. Walls feel warmer, neutrals look richer, and any wood in the room comes forward a notch.

It earns its keep in a kitchen, a sunlit hallway, or above a dining sideboard. Eye-level works, or sit it just above a console where it can be seen properly.

Pairs well with linen, oak, brass and stoneware. Cream walls love it. So do warm off-whites and pale clay.

Don’t crowd it with other busy travel prints or strong patterned wallpaper it wants a little room to breathe. The matte canvas finish softens the watercolour edges nicely.
