Three things it does fast: ground soft pink, sharpen brass, wake living room. Put it up and the room stops being polite. The thick pink brushwork spreads warmth across a wall, while the bright blue and red bits give a plain sofa corner something to answer to. It holds a wall on its own above a sideboard or a low bench, and it works just as well on a study wall where you sit close to it. Pair it with simple shapes a linen sofa, black metal legs, one or two glossy ceramics. Keep the surrounding surfaces clear. Don’t crowd it with patterned cushions, busy wallpaper or a second loud piece on the same wall; it needs empty space either side to land properly. On fine-art paper the crayon lines and dry brush edges stay crisp and slightly grainy.
