Three things it does fast: ground soft green, sharpen plaster, wake bedroom. The wall stops reading as blank and starts reading as considered, without adding noise. Hang it above a bed, a low chest of drawers or a bathroom basin, where you see it close up and the rough plaster texture does its work. Keep the company simple: linen bedding, pale timber, stoneware, a cane chair, walls in off-white or the softest khaki. What not to do is crowd it. Bold graphic posters, glossy black frames in a row, or a busy patterned wallpaper will flatten the texture and turn the leaf into decoration. One quiet piece, plenty of wall around it. On fine-art paper the plaster grain and pale washes stay soft and matt.
