A bedroom this pared back can take one serious warm grey. The blocks here are loose and hand-painted, so the whole thing reads as texture rather than pattern quiet from across the room, more interesting up close. Hang it above a bed or a low chest, or use it to fill a bare stretch of wall between a wardrobe and a window. It sits happily with linen bedding, pale wood, stoneware lamps and off-white or plaster walls. What it does not want is competition: skip busy florals, strong graphic prints and anything with a hard black outline nearby, or the soft edges lose their job.
