Against walnut, the pink reads less sweet, more deliberate. The whole stack of blocks does the same thing in a room: orange and mustard carry the warmth, teal keeps it sharp, and the dark olive-brown background stops it tipping into noise. Put it up and a quiet wall suddenly has a focal point, with enough colour in it to pull a scheme together rather than fight it. It works well above a sideboard, in a study above the desk, or on a narrow stretch of wall between windows where the vertical shape has room to run. Pair it with warm timber, tan leather and one solid-colour cushion picked from the print. Don’t crowd it with patterned wallpaper or other busy prints it needs clear wall either side. As a canvas the colour sits back slightly, giving the blocks a softer, more painterly edge.
