Even the plaster in here starts looking expensive next to terracotta. That is what this cropped face does to a plain room: the navy and burnt orange shapes give flat walls a proper focal point, and the soft pink and cream stop it feeling heavy. Hang it above a sideboard, on a study wall behind a desk, or at the far end of a hallway where you catch it on the way past. It sits happily with tan leather, boucle, walnut and black metal, and it likes a chalky off-white or clay wall best. Keep the surrounding shelf or console fairly clear busy patterned cushions and other strong graphics nearby will fight it. One strong piece is enough here. As a canvas it reads softer up close, with no glare from side light.
