A grey-and-cream wall stops reading as cold the moment that brick red panel and the lit lamp go up, and the whole corner gains a bit of evening warmth without a single extra light. Hang it upright above a slim sideboard, a console in the hall, or on the short wall of a dining room where people actually sit down. Around it, keep things tactile: aged leather, dark wood, wool, a stoneware jug. Skip glossy chrome and busy patterned wallpaper nearby, both fight the thick paint texture.
