There’s a reason illustrators kept returning to dogs among flowers; rooms still respond. The dark green background does the heavy lifting, so cream daisies, burnt orange and soft pink all lift off the wall instead of blending into it. Hang it where people pause a hallway, the wall beside a kitchen door, or above a low sideboard in a dining room. It sits happily with warm woods, painted cabinetry, linen and stoneware, and it gives a plain off-white wall something to talk about. Keep the wall around it fairly clear; competing patterned wallpaper or a busy shelf directly beside it will fight the flowers. One strong piece is enough here. On fine-art paper the flat illustrated colour stays clean and the fine fur strokes hold their detail.
