In the 1950s, this would have felt radical. It still does. A whole hillside village painted with the looseness of a holiday sketchbook, but built carefully enough to anchor a wall. The pinks, blues, yellows and terracotta soften a quiet room without flattening it, and the green canopy at the top keeps the eye moving. Hang it where you spend slow mornings above a kitchen sideboard, a dining bench, or a pale linen sofa. It sits well with rattan, pale timber, stoneware and lime-washed walls.
